Verizon Center is located in Chinatown neighborhood in Washington D.C. and it got its name from the sponsor Verizon Communications. Capital One Arena 601 F Streets NW, Washington, DC, 20004

Verizon Center is home to different sporting team including the NBA team Washington Wizards, the NHL team Washington Capitals, and others. The founding of the arena was back to 1997, and it was owned by Abe Phollin until his pass away in 2009, and now it is owned by Monumental Sports & Entertainment.

The inauguration of the arena was in 1997 with a concert of Barry Manilow. A year later, the arena hosted a Stanley Cup Finals game that the Washington Capitals lost for the Detroit Red Wings. April 2005, the arena witnessed a happy event for Washington Wizards in which they won over Chicago Bulls at the playoff games 117-99.

In 2008, and for the first time in their history, Wizards and Capitals played playoff games at the arena in the same year. Later in 2009, the arena hosted a special event of Jonas Brothers, attended by Michelle Obama and her two daughters. Other stars have also performed there including Lady Gaga, and Beyoncé.
